Skin cancer is one of these, which people often delay in identifying. In such a situation, today in this article we will know about some early symptoms of skin cancer, so that you can identify it in time.
What is skin cancer?
When skin cells start growing abnormally, it is called skin cancer. Usually the cells become old and die and then new cells are formed, but sometimes due to some disturbance in this process, the cells start growing excessively or in the wrong way.
Some of these cells are non-cancerous and do not cause much harm, but some cancerous cells can spread rapidly in the body and damage other parts of the body. You can identify it from the following symptoms.
Change in skin color
If your skin color suddenly starts changing, do not take it lightly. Sudden red, purple or brown patches on the skin are not normal at all. So do not consider it a rash, because this can be due to a rare skin cancer called Kaposi sarcoma.
Changes in an old wart
A change in the shape of an old mole on the body can also be an early sign of skin cancer. If a mole changes its shape, color, grows bigger, starts bleeding or forms a scab, then there could be symptoms of melanoma.
Non-healing wound
If any wound or ulcer on the skin is not healing for a long time or is recurring after healing, then do not take it lightly at all. Because it can be a sign of danger. Such symptoms point towards basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma.
New lump or bump
If a new lump, bump or wart suddenly appears on your skin after the age of 30, do not ignore it. Especially if this lump is red, pink or brown, it could be a sign of skin cancer .
Persistent itching or burning
Frequent itching and burning on the skin can also be a sign of this dangerous cancer. If you also suddenly start feeling itching at any place on the skin, then it could be Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC), which is a common skin cancer.
