A 69-year-old bride who came to Ludhiana from the USA to get married was murdered by her 67-year-old fiancé residing in England

A shocking incident in Ludhiana has shocked everyone. Rupinder Kaur Pandher, a 69-year-old NRI from the US, was murdered. Her skeletonized body was recovered from a drain in Ghungrana village near Ludhiana.

After arriving, Rupinder mysteriously disappeared. Police have uncovered the murder

Police also recovered the woman's damaged iPhone from the crime scene, which the accused had discarded to destroy evidence. The investigation revealed that Rupinder was murdered by her fiancé, who lives in England. The Ludhiana DCP stated that the murder was masterminded by Rupinder Kaur's 67-year-old fiancé, Charanjit Singh Grewal.

Charanjit lives in the UK. She had conspired to eliminate Rupinder by refusing to marry him.He hired his acquaintance, Sukhjeet Singh, to kill him. Sukhjeet Singh works as a typist at the court complex in Kila Raipur. During interrogation, Sukhjeet confessed to the police that he had murdered Rupinder.

Police say that on July 12th, Sukhjeet brutally murdered Rupinder in his home. He killed him with a baseball bat. After the murder, he burned the body over charcoal and then stuffed it into four sacks and threw it into a drain in Ghungrana village.

Sukhjeet and Charanjeet met during a political party campaign in 2014. Their closeness grew. During this time, Charanjeet sought Sukhjeet's help with property disputes. Rupinder often stayed at Sukhjeet's house when she visited Ludhiana. She also handed over her power of attorney to Sukhjeet. Gradually, Rupinder's financial transactions also became intertwined with these two.

Police investigations revealed that Rupinder had transferred between 30 and 35 lakh rupees to Charanjeet and Sukhjeet. Later, when Rupinder refused to marry him, he conspired to have Rupinder murdered by luring Sukhjeet with 50 lakh rupees. However, according to the police, this amount has not yet been paid to Sukhjeet.

Missing Persons Report Filed

To cover up the murder, Sukhjeet filed a missing persons report with the police in August. He claimed that Rupinder had left Delhi Airport to attend a wedding in Canada. This false report was intended to conceal the murder.

DCP Rupinder Singh said that a forensic team has been deployed to gather evidence in this case. Transactions made through Rupinder Kaur Pandher's bank accounts are also being thoroughly investigated. Police have named Charanjeet Singh Grewal as the main accused in this case. He is currently in the UK. The police are now preparing to extradite the accused, Charanjeet, to India with the help of Interpol and the Ministry of External Affairs. Meanwhile, local investigations are underway into all aspects of the murder conspiracy and the property dispute.
