These things will be important

Employees with a current basic salary of ₹18,000 could receive a new basic salary of ₹34,560. Including HRA and TA, the salary could exceed ₹45,000. Dearness allowance has not yet been implemented in the Eighth Pay Commission. However, dearness allowance will be implemented in the future. Then, the salary could reach ₹60,000.

What will be the fitment factor?

Salary increases in the 8th Pay Commission depend on the fitment factor. The fitment factor in the 7th Pay Commission was 2.57. In the 8th Pay Commission, the fitment factor may be 1.92. This fitment factor is multiplied by your old basic salary to determine your new basic salary.

For example, ₹18,000 × 1.92 = ₹34,560, meaning you'll earn ₹16,660 more than your current basic salary. This could increase the employee's total salary by more than ₹16,000.
