65-Year-Old Sanjay Dutt vs. 59-Year-Old Sanjay Kapoor: Who Is Wealthier?

In Bollywood, it’s common to find actors sharing the same first name but with very different career trajectories and fortunes. Today, we compare two such actors — Sanjay Dutt (65) and Sanjay Kapoor (59) — to see who holds the edge in wealth.

Sanjay Dutt began his career in 1981 with the lead role in Rocky, although he had earlier acted as a child artist in his father’s films. Over a prolific 44-year career, he has acted in more than 160 films and is well known for his villainous roles. Besides Bollywood, Sanjay Dutt has also worked in the South Indian film industry. According to Financial Express, his total assets are estimated at around ₹295 crore. His film fees range between ₹8-15 crore per movie, and he also earns substantial income from brand endorsements. In 2023, he launched his own Scotch whisky brand, Glenwalk, further adding to his wealth.

On the other hand, Sanjay Kapoor, brother of producers Boney Kapoor and actor Anil Kapoor, started his acting career in 1995 with the film Prem. He gained recognition from the hit film Raja starring Madhuri Dixit but has had a mixed run with several flops. Despite not reaching the stardom of his brother Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor continues to work in films and web series. His daughter, Shanaya Kapoor, is poised to debut in Bollywood soon. Reports estimate Sanjay Kapoor’s net worth at around ₹86 crore.

Interestingly, Sanjay Dutt’s wealth surpasses not only Sanjay Kapoor’s but also that of Boney Kapoor (₹150 crore) and Anil Kapoor (₹134 crore). Among these, Sanjay Dutt leads with ₹295 crore in net assets.
