5 standout features of the new-generation Kia Seltos that leave the Hyundai Creta behind

Kia is preparing to launch the new-generation Seltos, which is expected to offer stronger competition to the Hyundai Creta. The updated model is likely to arrive in 2026 with a fresh design and several new features. While the company has not revealed official details yet, early reports hint that the upcoming Seltos may include advanced features that the Creta doesn’t offer.

New features spotted
Test sightings of the new Seltos show 6–7 parking sensors, indicating the possibility of an auto-park system. Though not confirmed, the SUV may come with full automatic parking or at least an auto parallel-parking feature. Another major upgrade expected is ventilated rear seats, which is currently missing in most rivals.

Features inspired by Kia Cyros
Some features from the Kia Cyros may make their way to the Seltos as well. The Cyros comes with rear seat ventilation at the base, but the Seltos could offer full ventilation on both the seat base and backrest. Another likely addition is the Trinity Display, which includes a digital instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment unit, and a 5-inch climate control display in one continuous panel.

Sliding rear seats for added comfort
The new Seltos is also expected to offer reclining and sliding rear seats. While reclining seats are common, the sliding function adds flexibility by increasing legroom when needed. Along with these comfort features, the SUV may also get a new powertrain. According to reports, Kia could introduce a 1.6-litre hybrid engine similar to the one used in the international-spec Hyundai Kona Hybrid, with a claimed fuel efficiency of around 25 km/l.

Expected price and launch timeline
The new-generation Kia Seltos is expected to debut in the first half of 2026. Prices are likely to be slightly higher than the current version, with an estimated on-road price range of ₹13 lakh to ₹28 lakh in Mumbai.
