3 free gas cylinders and ₹3,000 in your account! This is the government's big decision; who will benefit?

Given the global situation, it's becoming clear that inflation is only going to rise further. All of these circumstances are going to make life extremely difficult for the common man. But amidst all this, one government has attempted to ease this burden on the common man. In this era of rising inflation and soaring prices, three free cylinders have been announced. Additionally, ₹3,000 will also be transferred to your account. Which government made this decision? Let's explore in detail who can benefit from it.

This scheme has been announced by the Goa government. Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that eligible beneficiaries in the state will get Rs 3,000 annually for  the cost of three LPG cylinders . The Goa government has officially approved the 'Goa Ujjwala Yojana 2026'. Under this scheme, eligible families in the state will get financial assistance of Rs 3,000 annually, equivalent to the cost of three domestic LPG cylinders or PNG. This scheme was part of the promise made by the Chief Minister during the 2022 Goa Assembly elections. The government had assured the public that three LPG cylinders would be given free every year.

When will the money be transferred to accounts?
Beneficiaries will begin receiving an annual amount of Rs 3,000 in their bank accounts starting September 9th. This government scheme aims to cover the cost of three LPG cylinders per year. Instead of providing individual cylinders, the government will transfer the amount directly to the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries. The Chief Minister said that residents who complete the application process and submit the required documents will begin receiving the amount in their bank accounts.

How to apply?
To take advantage of Goa's free LPG/PNG cylinder scheme, the government has continued the offline application process. You can apply by following the simple steps below.

Visit the nearest Gram Panchayat office, Municipal Corporation office, or local MLA (Amendment) Officer's office in your area.
Obtain the official application form for the scheme. Fill in all the required information, including the applicant's name, Aadhaar number, gas subscriber number, gas agency name, and bank account details.
Have a copy of the gas/PNG connection, Aadhaar card, bank passbook, and voter ID ready.
Attach photocopies of all required documents to the completed form. Then, return it to the counter at the same Panchayat or Municipal Corporation office. Remember to obtain an acknowledgement receipt.

Who can apply?

The most important feature of this scheme is that there is no income limit. This means that families in the general and open categories can also apply. The scheme's benefits will be available not only to LPG cylinder users but also to families using domestic piped natural gas connections. Remember, even if a family has more than one gas connection, each family will only benefit from one gas connection. The government has also not excluded government employees from this scheme.
