South superstar Yash's much-awaited film Toxic has completed three days in cinemas, but its box office performance has started showing signs of weakness. While the film opened with a massive collection, its earnings dropped significantly on the second day and declined further on the third day.

According to Sacnilk figures cited in reports, Toxic earned ₹26.60 crore in India on its third day. With this, the film's three-day domestic collection has reached ₹165.35 crore.

The sharp fall in daily collections has raised questions about the film's performance during the crucial weekdays.

Toxic Opened With Over ₹100 Crore

The film had a spectacular opening at the box office.

On its first day, Toxic reportedly collected ₹101.10 crore in India. However, the momentum didn't continue at the same level.

The film's collection fell to ₹37.65 crore on the second day, before dropping further to ₹26.60 crore on the third day.

The film has reportedly earned around ₹197.70 crore in three days worldwide from its gross domestic collection figures, while its overseas earnings stand at approximately ₹23.75 crore.

This takes its reported worldwide total to around ₹221.45 crore.

The next major test will be Sunday's collection. A strong Sunday could provide the film with some much-needed momentum before the weekday test begins.

Can Toxic Recover Its ₹500 Crore Budget?

The biggest concern is the film's reported production cost.

According to reports, Toxic has been made on a budget of around ₹500 crore. Before release, expectations were extremely high, with many believing that Yash's star power and the success of his previous blockbuster KGF: Chapter 2 could help the film cross the ₹1,000 crore mark.

However, the declining collections have changed the situation.

If the film continues to lose momentum during the weekdays, recovering such a massive production budget could become a difficult task.

Negative Word of Mouth Could Hurt the Film
