Born on December 13, 1997, in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, Yash began playing cricket at the age of six. His father, Chandrapal Dayal, a former cricketer himself, supported Yash’s training from an early age.

Yash made his List A debut for Uttar Pradesh during the 2018-19 Vijay Hazare Trophy season and took 14 wickets in the 2021-22 season, finishing as the seventh highest wicket-taker. His performance helped Uttar Pradesh reach the quarter-finals. He debuted in first-class cricket during the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy, taking 72 wickets in 23 matches so far.
