US-Iran News: Amidst the tension between US and Iran, now both the sides are expected to meet in Doha, so that the agreement can be further strengthened and any other military conflict can be prevented.
The US and Iran have agreed to halt attacks on each other following recent military clashes. A high-level meeting will be held between the two countries in Qatar on Tuesday (June 30). The meeting aims to work on maintaining a ceasefire, as reports of military clashes between the two sides have surfaced over the past several days, raising tensions in the Middle East.
According to a report by Axios, the US and Iran will refrain from carrying out any military activities while negotiations continue regarding the Strait of Hormuz. The two countries reached an interim agreement 11 days ago to end the conflict that began on February 28th. However, their statements differed on the issues covered by the deal, creating uncertainty about the ceasefire.
Will there be a meeting in Doho?
Amid tensions between the US and Iran, both sides are now expected to meet in Doha to further strengthen the agreement and prevent any further military conflict.
Trump had threatened
US President Donald Trump on Saturday (June 27) vowed to launch airstrikes against Iranian military targets. He accused Tehran of again violating the ceasefire agreement by attacking a commercial oil tanker near the Strait of Hormuz. He warned that if the attacks continued, the Islamic Republic would no longer exist.
In a Truth Social post, Trump said, "US aircraft struck Iranian missile and drone storage facilities, as well as coastal radar sites. US aircraft again struck Iranian missile and drone storage facilities and coastal radar sites for violating the ceasefire agreement! It's very likely they will never learn!"
He added, "A time may come when we will no longer be able to act prudently and will be forced to militarily complete the task we so successfully began. If that happens, the Islamic Republic of Iran will be no more!"
