Google CEO Sundar Pichai has made a surprising remark about the future of Artificial Intelligence. According to him, AI is advancing so fast that one day it could even sit in the CEO’s chair. He said that being a CEO might actually be “one of the easiest roles” for AI to handle. However, Pichai also cautioned that AI still makes errors, and relying on it completely would be risky. He added that AI will definitely eliminate some jobs, replace others, and people must prepare themselves for this new reality.

Is AI coming after CEO positions?
In a recent interview, Pichai said that AI will soon be capable of handling complex tasks effortlessly and will act as an agent on behalf of users. He even suggested that AI could eventually take over the responsibilities of a CEO. He further noted that AI is still far from reaching perfection. Current models continue to make mistakes, which means humans must remain cautious. Pichai explained that while AI can support major decisions—such as stock investments or medical judgments—the final call should always be made carefully. He compared today’s AI boom to the early days of the internet, saying that even though there is heavy investment and hype, AI’s long-term impact will be massive.

Pichai acknowledged that AI’s influence is unavoidable and that “no company is immune to disruptions—not even Google.” He said that although certain segments of the industry may be overinvesting right now, the overall future of AI remains very strong. Highlighting Google’s advantage, he mentioned the company’s full-stack technology and reliable tools like Search, which will continue to be essential as AI grows and evolves.
