WhatsApp Update: Scammers are in trouble now! This WhatsApp feature that will eliminate the risk of scams and warn you in advance

Messaging platform WhatsApp is working on a new feature. This feature will catch scammers without compromising the privacy of users. WhatsApp's new security feature will help filter suspicious messages and protect users from scams. It is being said that this upcoming feature will identify suspicious messages coming from unknown numbers and alert users about these messages in chat. Under the new feature, the messaging app can provide another layer of security to users while handling suspicious messages.

User privacy will not be affected.
According to a report released by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp will manage everything on the phone, so users' privacy will not be affected. Based on the information received so far, it can be assumed that the upcoming feature will be quite interesting. The company is currently testing this feature and it has not yet been rolled out to beta users.

New Scam Alert Feature
In the last few years, there has been a huge increase in online scams and frauds on WhatsApp. Scammers send messages to people from unknown numbers. Often, scammers gain people's trust by posing as police or government officials. In some cases, scammers send fake links to people, clicking on which empties the user's entire bank account. Keeping all this in mind and keeping the safety of users in mind, WhatsApp is now working on a new feature. This new feature of the company can be released under the name Scam Alert. Under this feature, if any suspicious message is received, the user will be immediately alerted.

The new feature will notify users of unknown and suspicious numbers instead of automatically blocking them, allowing them to make their own decisions about what action they want to take against the suspicious number or whether they want to continue the conversation.

How will the new feature work?

When you enable the Scam Alert feature on your phone, the app will review messages from unknown numbers directly on your device. If the system detects a message is fraudulent, a warning banner will appear in the chat. This alert banner may include the message 'This may be a scam.' Users will then have the option to block and report the number or trust the number and continue the conversation.

WhatsApp says this feature is designed to work entirely on-device. This eliminates the need to send messages to WhatsApp or Meta for analysis. The company is also working on local transparency reports, which will be available to users soon.
