WhatsApp is a messaging platform widely used worldwide. WhatsApp has millions of users worldwide. Users use WhatsApp daily to share photos, videos, and other media files with friends and family. However, users often complain about the poor quality of photos and videos sent over WhatsApp. This is because the app compresses media files by default, which uses less data and makes sending files faster.
If you don't want to lose quality in photos and videos, you can use the HD media feature in WhatsApp. Interestingly, users can now permanently enable HD quality as the default setting. Additionally, users can select the HD option when sending each photo or video if needed. To do this, follow a few simple steps.
How to enable permanent setting for sending HD media in WhatsApp?
First, open WhatsApp on your smartphone.
Click the three dots at the top.
Select the Settings option.
Open the Storage and Data section.
Scroll down and you'll find the Media Upload Quality option. Tap this option.
You'll see two options: Standard Quality and HD Quality.
Choose HD Quality.
Any videos and photos you send will be sent in HD quality by default.
How to send different HD photos or videos every time?
Open any chat in WhatsApp.
Now select a photo or video.
An HD icon will appear at the top of the media preview screen, tap on it.
Now select HD quality.
Now send the selected photo or video.
Keep these things in mind while sending HD media:
Sending files in HD quality uses more internet data.
Sending large files takes more time.
If the other user is using an older WhatsApp version, some features may not work properly.
Even when using HD quality, WhatsApp applies some level of compression.
Send photos in original quality using Document Mode
If you want to send photos in their original quality, you can also use Document Mode.
Open any chat in WhatsApp.
Tap the attachment icon.
Select the Document option.
Select the photos and videos you want to send.
Send the files.
In this method, WhatsApp doesn't compress the media, so the photos' original quality is maintained.
