1. Register Your Phone Number on WhatsApp Again
If someone has taken control of your WhatsApp account, try signing in again using your own mobile number.
Enter the verification code sent to your number. Successfully verifying your phone number can help restore access to your account and remove unauthorised access from another primary device.
Most importantly, never share your WhatsApp verification code with anyone, even if the person claims to be a friend, company representative or support executive.
2. Check Linked Devices
Someone may be able to read your messages through an unfamiliar linked device even when WhatsApp continues working normally on your phone.
Open WhatsApp and check the Linked Devices section.
Review every computer, browser or other device listed there. If you see anything you do not recognise, log it out immediately.
Checking this section periodically is a useful security habit even when you have not noticed suspicious activity.
3. Turn On Two-Step Verification
Two-step verification adds another security layer to your WhatsApp account.
