Do you want to transfer your PF balance from your old company to your new one? If so, read this news. Transferring your PF balance from your old company to your new company's account is a crucial process when you change jobs. Previously, this required hours of visits to the PF office. However, the EPFO has now simplified this process.
The PF auto-transfer facility has been made easier starting April 1, 2026. But one of the most important requirements to take advantage of this is linking your UAN (Universal Account Number) with your Aadhaar card!
If your UAN isn't linked to Aadhaar, your company won't be able to deposit your PF funds, and you'll also face difficulty transferring your old PF. So, let's learn how to complete this process from home.
What are the benefits of having UAN-Aadhaar link?
1. Auto Transfer: When you change jobs, your PF is automatically credited to the new account.
2. Fast Claim: There is no problem while withdrawing or transferring PF.
3. Online facility: Now you do not need to go to the PF office, all the work is done on mobile.
You can do this from the official EPFO portal in just a few minutes:
How to link UAN number with Aadhaar online?
Step 1: Visit the portal
First, go to the EPFO Unified Member Portal and log in by entering your UAN number, password, and the provided captcha.
Step 2: Click on the 'Manage' tab
After logging in, click on the 'Manage' option at the top of the homepage. There, select the 'KYC' option from the drop-down menu.
Step 3: Select 'Aadhaar'
After going to the KYC section, you will see options like Bank, PAN, and Aadhaar. Click on 'Aadhaar' there.
Step 4: Enter your Aadhaar details
Now type in your Aadhaar card's correct number and your full name. Once you've completed filling in the information, click the "Save" button.
Step 5: Aadhaar Authentication
Once your information is saved, it will be sent to UIDAI for verification. An OTP will be sent to the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar. Enter the OTP and click 'Submit.'
Step 6: Wait for verification
After submitting, you'll see 'KYC Pending for Approval' appear on your screen. Your company and the EPFO office will verify it. Your Aadhaar will be successfully linked in approximately 4 to 5 days.
Once Aadhaar is linked, you can transfer PF like this:
