Teenage batting sensations Vaibhav Suryavanshi (14 years old) and Musheer Khan (20 years old) are making waves in England with their powerful performances. Their playful camaraderie off the field is well-known, but on the pitch, both are proving their mettle with explosive batting displays. Musheer Khan is touring England with the Mumbai Emerging Team, while Vaibhav Suryavanshi is part of India’s Under-19 squad.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s Dominant Form
India’s Under-19 team secured a 3-2 victory in the five-match ODI series against England’s Under-19 side, with Vaibhav playing a crucial role. After slow starts in the first two games, he roared back with a blistering 86 off just 31 balls in the third ODI, hitting 9 sixes. His innings was remarkable for scoring only 10 runs in the first 8 balls, then smashing 76 runs in the next 22.
Vaibhav’s highlight came in the fourth ODI when he smashed a century off only 52 balls, breaking a 12-year-old Youth ODI record. He finished that innings with 143 runs from 78 balls, including 10 sixes. Though he couldn’t post a big score in the final match, he still led the series in runs, sixes, and strike rate.
Overall, Vaibhav amassed 355 runs with 29 sixes and 30 fours in five innings at an average of 71 and an impressive strike rate of 174.01 — the only batsman to cross 350 runs in the series.
Musheer Khan’s Consistent Centuries
Meanwhile, Musheer Khan has been equally unstoppable on the England tour with Mumbai Emerging, scoring centuries in all three matches played so far. His scores include 123 runs (with 14 fours) against Nottinghamshire Second XI on June 30, 125 runs (11 fours, 1 six) on July 3, and 154 runs off 146 balls (strike rate 105.48) on July 7.
Combined Impact: Sixes, Fours and Runs
Together, Vaibhav and Musheer have hit 32 sixes and 97 fours, scoring a combined total of 757 runs on English soil. Of these, Vaibhav accounted for 29 sixes and 30 fours, while Musheer contributed 3 sixes and 47 fours, showcasing their tremendous batting prowess and making them stars to watch for the future of Indian cricket.
