The video has sparked a major controversy on social media. Opposition parties have accused the state government of having a double standard regarding religious activities.

People were seen offering namaz in the video

According to reports, the people seen praying in the video are believed to be relatives of passengers traveling to Mecca. It was reported that a designated prayer room already exists on the airport premises, yet they offered prayers in a public space. Airport staff and security personnel are also seen nearby in the viral video.

BJP asked questions to the government

After the video surfaced, BJP leader Vijay Prasad took to Twitter (formerly Twitter) to question Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and IT Minister Priyank Kharge. He wrote, "How was this allowed in Bengaluru airport's T2 terminal? Did these people obtain prior permission to offer namaz? This is a high-security zone." He further wrote, "The government bans activities like RSS marches, but turns a blind eye to such incidents. This is a serious security concern."

The government is considering issuing new guidelines.

Meanwhile, there is now news that the Karnataka government is taking this matter seriously and is considering issuing new guidelines. According to sources, the government may soon issue an order that will completely ban any religious or political activity on the airport premises.
