Macron Stopped by New York Cops: After attending the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), French President Emmanuel Macron was returning to the embassy when he was stopped by New York police to make way for Donald Trump's convoy. All roads had been closed to allow Trump to pass, leaving Macron stranded on New York's streets. Macron then got off the road and began speaking with traffic police officers. A video of this is rapidly going viral on social media.

What's the whole matter?
After leaving the United Nations Headquarters, Macron's motorcade headed toward the French Embassy at 934 Fifth Avenue in New York City. The distance between the two is approximately 1.6 kilometers. Meanwhile, New York Police Department (NYPD) officers stopped Macron's motorcade because all roads in the area were closed. The road closures were not due to any demonstrations or protests, but rather because of US President Donald Trump.
Trump's convoy was passing by
In fact, Trump's presidential motorcade was passing through the area, prompting the NYPD to stop the French president's motorcade. After stopping Macron's car, a NYPD officer approached the French president, a video of which has surfaced. The officer told Macron, "Excuse me, Mr. President, I'm sorry. Everything is closed right now," and gestured to indicate that Trump's motorcade was passing by.
Macron calls Trump
Macron immediately took out his phone and called Trump to inform him of the awkward situation where his car had stopped. He laughed and said to Trump, "How are you? Guess what, I'm waiting on the street right now because everything is closed for you." He also jokingly asked Trump to "clear the way." Trump's response to Macron is not known, but the road remained blocked for several minutes. After the road was opened for pedestrians, Macron and his companions began walking on the road. During this time, the French President also posed for photographs with the pedestrians.
