Today's Weather, June 6: Amidst the intense heat wave in many states, severe thunderstorms and rain have brought significant relief to residents. The Meteorological Department has once again issued a storm and rain alert for 19 states. Strong winds with speeds of up to 60 to 80 kilometers per hour are expected. According to the IMD, an induced cyclonic circulation is present in the lower troposphere over central Pakistan and adjacent northwestern Rajasthan. A cyclonic circulation is also present between the lower and middle troposphere over northwestern Uttar Pradesh and surrounding areas. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall in Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu over the next seven days. Extremely heavy rainfall is also expected at isolated places in Kerala on June 6 and 7. Heavy rainfall is also expected in the northeastern states for the next week.

In which states is there a rain alert?

According to the Meteorological Department's forecast, the southwest monsoon has accelerated its progress on June 5, advancing into many parts of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Goa. In the next 48 to 72 hours, the monsoon is expected to advance into Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, the Arabian Sea, and other parts of Northeast India. The IMD has also forecast rain and strong winds in Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh on different days. Thunderstorms and lightning are also possible during this period.

The Meteorological Department has predicted thunderstorms and rain in Delhi on June 6th. The maximum temperature is expected to be 36 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to be 26 degrees Celsius. However, no specific warning has been issued for this day. The weather is expected to improve rapidly after this time. On June 7th, the sky is expected to be mostly clear, with a maximum temperature of 39 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 27 degrees Celsius.

On June 8th, the maximum temperature is expected to be 40 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 28 degrees Celsius. The weather will remain clear, and no warning has been issued. Furthermore, the Meteorological Department has forecast mostly clear skies on June 9th and June 10th. The maximum temperature is expected to be 41 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 28 degrees Celsius on both days. No warning has been issued for these days either.

According to the IMD, light rain is likely on June 6th in Lucknow, Rae Bareli, Gorakhpur, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Noida, Ghaziabad, and Agra. Additionally, Gorakhpur, Ballia, Deoria, and Azamgarh may experience heatwaves between June 9th and 11th. The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for thunderstorms in western Uttar Pradesh on June 6th, while rain is expected in eastern Uttar Pradesh on June 10th and 11th.
