This is the height of shamelessness... Team India won the Asia Cup title, Mohsin Naqvi ran away with the trophy

The Indian cricket team refused to accept the Asia Cup trophy from Pakistani minister Mohsin Naqvi, who then took the trophy and returned to his hotel room.

Dubai : The controversy between India and Pakistan continued even after the Asia Cup 2025 ended. The controversy started on September 14 when Suryakumar Yadav did not shake hands with Pakistani captain Salman Ali Agha. After the final, the Indian team clearly refused to accept the trophy from Pakistani government minister Mohsin Naqvi. Naqvi, being the president of the Asian Cricket Council, insisted on handing over the trophy.

The post-match presentation started quite late. When it was the turn of the Indian team to receive the medals and trophy, host Simon Doull said - Ladies and gentlemen, I have been informed by the Asian Cricket Council that the Indian cricket team will not be able to receive their awards tonight. So the post-match presentation ends here.

Naqvi ran away with the trophy

When the Indian team refused to accept the trophy, Mohsin Naqvi left with it. BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia confirmed this. Speaking to ANI, he said, "We cannot accept a trophy from someone who represents a country that is waging a war against our country. Therefore, we have refused to accept the trophy, but that does not mean he will take the trophy and medals meant for our country to his hotel room."

Saikia further said, "We hope the trophy and medals will be returned to India as soon as possible. The ICC conference is scheduled to be held in Dubai this November. At that conference, we will lodge a very serious and strong protest against the actions of the ACC President."

India had told the ACC that they had no problem accepting the trophy from Emirates Board Vice President Khalid Al Zarooni. However, Mohsin Naqvi, as ACC President, insisted on returning the trophy, and this is why Team India refused to accept the medals and trophy.
