The hassle of hiding messages on WhatsApp is over, this feature of the company will increase focus and control the privacy of chats

WhatsApp may soon introduce a Focus Schedules feature that will allow users to mute or hide notifications from their chat lists at specific times. This feature is currently in development.

Meta's instant messaging app, WhatsApp, has millions of users worldwide. The company continually introduces new features and updates to improve its users' experience and address their needs. Now, Meta is preparing to introduce a feature on WhatsApp that will help users focus on important tasks while also maintaining user privacy.

In fact, the constant barrage of messages and group notifications on WhatsApp often distracts users, making it difficult to focus on work or studies. To address this issue, the company has introduced a new feature called Focus Schedules. This allows users to adjust their chats to suit their needs and mute or hide their chat lists.

How will this Focus Schedules feature work?

According to a report by WABetaInfo, the new Focus Schedules feature will allow users to schedule specific chat lists, allowing them to choose when notifications for that list should be active and when they should be muted or hidden.

Let's understand this with an example. Suppose you've created a chat list for a school or college and set the time from 10 AM to 4 PM. During this time, you'll only receive notifications from that list. After 4 PM, you can automatically mute or hide that list, depending on your settings. This will eliminate recurring notifications and reduce user distraction.

Will strengthen the privacy of users

By privacy, we mean that when we open our phone in front of another person, our private messages appear on the screen, which can make us uncomfortable. With this new Focus Schedules feature, we can easily mute those chats until we need them.

In this way, you will be able to set the focus schedule

Users can create a Focus Schedule directly from their chat list settings. They can tap the 'New Schedule' option. They can then name their list and add the desired chat or group to it. They can also set a time for notifications to be displayed as per their convenience.

The special thing is that users will also be able to set multiple time slots for the same chat list.

For example, if you have two lists called Work and Friends, you could set the Work list to be active from 10 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. For the Friends list, you could set the time to be morning or evening.

The feature is currently in the development phase

According to the report, the Focus Schedules feature is currently in development. It has been spotted in WhatsApp beta version 2.26.39.9 for Android. However, it is not yet available even for WhatsApp beta users. According to the report, this feature is initially being developed for WhatsApp Plus subscribers. However, the company has not shared any details regarding its official launch date or availability for regular users.

Why will only WhatsApp Plus users get this feature?

WhatsApp is currently developing this feature for WhatsApp Plus subscribers. One possible reason for this could be to offer additional features to the company's paid subscription service. WhatsApp Plus offers users additional options such as chat management and customization of the app.

In such a scenario, the Focus Schedules feature could also become part of the premium features. This would give users the option to better manage their chats and have more control over notifications. However, the company has not yet clarified why this feature is limited to WhatsApp Plus and when it will be released for regular users.
