Tech Tips: How to set Instagram Reels audio as your phone ringtone? Here are some easy tips for Android and iPhone users

It often happens that we're scrolling through Instagram's Reels and suddenly we find a song or music we like so much that we want to listen to it again and again. Some people even set this song or music as their ringtone. But many don't know how to set the audio from a Reel as their smartphone ringtone. But actually, this process is very simple for both Android and iPhone users. With iOS 26, this process has become even easier. If you have an iPhone running iOS 26, you can directly set an MP3 or M4A audio file of 30 seconds or less as your ringtone.

Here are the easy steps for iPhone users.

First, download the audio of the reel you want to set as your smartphone ringtone to your iPhone.

Now trim the video and keep only the part you want to set as a ringtone. To set a ringtone directly on an iPhone, the audio file must be 30 seconds or less.

Remember that to follow this process, you need iOS 26. Apple added the option to set a short audio file as a ringtone directly from the Files app in iOS 26.

Now, first save the video to Files. Then, create an audio file from the video. Because videos can't be set as ringtones directly.

Now save the audio from the video in MP3 or M4A format. Then, keep the file length to 30 seconds or less.

Now open the Files app on your iPhone and go to the folder where you saved the audio file. Long-press on the audio file and select the Share option.

Now select the Use as Ringtone option. You'll see this option in the Share menu. Tap this option. After that, the audio you saved will be set as your iPhone ringtone.

If you don't see this option after clicking the Share menu, tap the More option in the Share menu. Then, go to 'Sound and Haptics' in 'Settings' and click 'Ringtone'; here you can view and select ringtones.

Here are the easy steps for Android users

First of all, open Instagram Reels on your Android smartphone and copy its link.

Now find a tool online to convert Instagram videos to audio, paste the Reels link there, and then download the audio version.

After downloading the audio, go to the Files app on your phone and open the Downloads folder.

Copy the downloaded audio file and paste it into the ringtone folder of the phone.

Now go to your phone's settings and select the option to change your ringtone. Here, you'll see the audio files you've saved. Selecting this file will set the Instagram Reel audio as your smartphone ringtone.
