Tata Motors is preparing for its biggest electric vehicle expansion yet. Already one of the leading players in India's EV market, the automaker plans to introduce three new electric SUVs over the next 12 months, strengthening its presence across both the mass-market and premium EV segments.

The upcoming lineup will include the highly anticipated Sierra EV, the brand's first three-row electric SUV in the form of the Safari EV, and the futuristic Avinya range, marking Tata's entry into the luxury electric vehicle space.

Tata Sierra EV to Lead the Launch

The first model expected to arrive is the Tata Sierra EV, which is likely to debut around June 30, 2026. Reviving one of Tata's most iconic nameplates, the all-electric Sierra is expected to feature a completely modern design inspired by the concept version.

The SUV is likely to feature:

Following the Sierra EV, Tata Motors is expected to launch the Safari EV, its first electric SUV with three rows of seating.

Designed for larger families, the Safari EV is likely to retain the familiar styling of the current Safari while incorporating design changes to accommodate its electric architecture.

• Battery options between 65 kWh and 75 kWh, with some reports suggesting an 80 kWh version.

Tata Motors is also preparing to enter the premium electric vehicle segment with its Avinya lineup. Rather than being a single model, Avinya will be an entirely new family of luxury EVs.

The first production model is expected to arrive in early 2027 and is likely to feature:

• Futuristic exterior inspired by the Avinya concept.

• Premium minimalist cabin.

• Large digital displays.

• Advanced connected technologies.

• High-end comfort and convenience features.

The production version is expected to be built on Tata's new IMAX platform, replacing the earlier plan to use a Jaguar Land Rover-derived architecture. Battery capacities are expected to range between 65 kWh and 80 kWh.
