A surprising case of negligence has surfaced at Vijayanagar Sri Krishnadevaraya University in Koppal, Karnataka, where a student’s marks sheet displayed a photo of a Swamiji instead of the student’s own photo. The student, Devaraj Moolimani, was shocked upon receiving the marks sheet with the incorrect photo and protested to the university authorities. The marks sheet photo has now gone viral on social media platforms, drawing widespread attention.
Devaraj had applied for the marks sheet online through the university’s Integrated University and College Management System (UUCMS). The error was traced back to online input, as the university registrar, N.M. Sali, explained that the university prints the marksheet based on the information entered by students through UUCMS and does not verify photos personally. The registrar mentioned that similar mistakes have occurred where students have uploaded inappropriate photos, including selfies or unrelated Google images.
To rectify the situation, the university will request all students to resubmit correct information through UUCMS. Separate corrected marksheets will be issued after verification. An investigation into the incident is also underway to prevent such errors in the future and ensure the accuracy of student records.
