According to biologists, snakes are very shy animals. But when a snake encounters them, everyone becomes afraid. Snakes are even afraid of humans. Yet, many people die from snake bites. Sometimes, even non-venomous snake bites have caused deaths. The real reason behind this is the fear of snake bites.
Snakes have a religious significance in India. There are religious beliefs and traditions associated with them. There is even a festival called Nag Panchami. On one hand, snakes are worshipped. On the other hand, upon seeing a snake, people take up sticks. Many stories about snakes and the serpent world are common not only in India but in many countries. Stories like the garland on the head of a snake, the wish-fulfilling serpent, and the serpent woman are well-known.
Why does a snake wag?
It is said that snakes love the sound of a flute. Upon hearing this sound, the snake begins to sway. If you've observed snakes carefully, you'll have noticed that they don't have ears. Still, many people wonder how a snake can dance to the flute without hearing it. The snake charmer's skill is the reason behind this. As the snake charmer waves the flute, the snake follows suit. It moves back and forth, and the onlooker feels as if it's dancing to the flute.
You may have noticed several pieces of glass on that bean. When light falls on these pieces of glass, they sparkle, blurring the snake's vision. When the glass shines, the snake reacts to it and moves its body. It turns toward the light, and we think it's dancing. Therefore, the sound of the bean is designed to attract our attention. Since the snake doesn't have ears, it reacts to the signal from the bean, not to the sound.
If a snake didn't have ears, it would use its skin to sense its surroundings. Its skin reacts to vibrations, creating waves that impact it. Based on this, it assesses its surroundings. Therefore, when it senses fear or danger, it growls and becomes aggressive. It runs toward the body. This is its reaction.
