After the film flopped, Rajpal Yadav failed to repay the loan. Post-dated cheques were issued, but they bounced. With interest, penalties, and legal expenses, the amount grew to approximately ₹9 crore (approximately $1.5 million). The case reached court under the Cheque Bounce Act (Section 138 below). After a lengthy legal battle, Rajpal Yadav surrendered to Delhi's Tihar Jail on February 5, 2026. After spending a few days in jail, he was granted interim bail (until March 18, 2026) upon depositing ₹2.5 crore (approximately $1.5 million).
