As the Bihar Assembly elections heat up, political parties are pulling out all stops to win voter confidence. The BJP-led NDA alliance has deployed its top leaders across the state, while the Grand Alliance (Mahagathbandhan) is working aggressively to make a comeback. After Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has now stepped into the campaign trail, launching a strong attack on the ruling government.
Priyanka Gandhi’s fiery speech in Sonbarsa
Addressing a massive rally in Sonbarsa, Bihar, on Monday, Priyanka Gandhi directly targeted the Nitish Kumar–Narendra Modi government, accusing it of failing the people on critical issues such as unemployment, rising prices, and mass migration.
She said, “People of Bihar are forced to travel from Kashmir to Kanyakumari in search of work. They only see their families during festivals. There are no jobs left here, farming is no longer profitable, and farmers can barely survive.”
“What have they done in 20 years?”
The Congress leader questioned the NDA’s two-decade-long rule in Bihar, asking, “If there is neither security nor employment, then what have they done in 20 years?” She further accused the government of destroying small businesses and worsening the economy through demonetization.
Priyanka alleged that the youth are losing faith as they are forced to take exam after exam without ever receiving appointments.
Promise of Exam Calendar for Youth
Vadra announced that if the Congress comes to power, her government will release an official exam calendar to bring transparency to the recruitment process.
She explained that this calendar will clearly specify:
-
When exams will be conducted,
-
When results will be announced, and
-
When appointments will take place.
She also promised strict action against officials who fail to follow the schedule.
“Bihar’s land is being sold for one rupee”
Continuing her attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Priyanka Gandhi claimed that Bihar’s land is being handed over to industrialists like Adani and Ambani at throwaway prices.
She said, “When common people buy land, they have to struggle for loans and approvals. But Modi’s friends get land for one rupee. Their loans are waived, while farmers receive no relief.”
“Take the money, but remember your children”
Priyanka also commented on the cash distribution ahead of the elections. Referring to the ₹10,000 assistance given to women, she said, “Take whatever money they give you, but remember your children when you vote. Think about their future and the future of Bihar.”
Her message emphasized that voters should not be swayed by money or short-term benefits, but instead vote for a government that ensures jobs, education, and a better life for the next generation.
