POCO C81X Launching in India Today: Works Even with Wet Hands, Targets Budget Segment

The POCO C81X is set to launch in India today alongside the standard POCO C81. The launch event is scheduled for 12 PM, and key specifications have already been revealed via an official microsite.

The phone is designed to offer practical features at an affordable price, with a strong focus on usability and battery life.

Key Features and Specifications

The POCO C81X comes with a large 6.8-inch display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 240Hz touch sampling rate, ensuring smooth scrolling and responsiveness. The screen also offers up to 600 nits of brightness and includes eye-care features for better viewing comfort.

One of its standout features is Wet Touch Technology 2.0, which allows the device to be used even with wet hands—something particularly useful during rainy seasons or workouts.

In terms of performance, the phone is powered by an octa-core chipset with an AnTuTu score of over 360,000, making it suitable for everyday tasks and light gaming. It also supports virtual RAM expansion, where the 3GB RAM variant can be extended up to 6GB for smoother multitasking.

Battery and Charging

The device packs a 5200mAh battery, which the company claims can last up to 1.6 days on a single charge. It supports 15W fast charging and also offers 7.5W wired reverse charging, allowing you to charge other devices if needed. POCO also claims that the battery will retain up to 80% health even after 1000 charging cycles.

Camera and Storage

For photography, the phone features a 13MP rear camera with modes like night and portrait, along with an 8MP front camera for selfies and video calls. Storage can be expanded up to 2TB via a microSD card, which is a big advantage in this segment.

Software and Security

The smartphone will receive 2 Android updates and 4 years of security updates, which is notable for a budget device. For security, it includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and AI-based face unlock.

Expected Price

While the official price hasn’t been announced yet, the POCO C81X is expected to be positioned in the budget segment. Final pricing will be revealed at the launch event later today.
