PM Modi Welcomes Gaza Peace Deal, Praises Trump and Netanyahu for Leadership

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday lauded US President Donald Trump for brokering a peace agreement between Israel and Hamas, aimed at ending the prolonged conflict in Gaza. Modi said the accord reflected the decisive leadership of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and expressed hope that the release of hostages and humanitarian assistance to Gaza’s civilians would pave the way for lasting peace.

The Gaza Peace Deal, negotiated under the Trump administration, seeks to end the two-year-long war between Israel and Hamas. The agreement includes the release of prisoners captured during the conflict and the provision of aid to Gaza’s war-affected population. The move is being seen as a major step toward restoring stability in the region.

Sharing his thoughts on social media, Prime Minister Modi wrote, “We welcome the agreement on the first phase of President Trump’s peace plan. It also reflects Prime Minister Netanyahu’s strong leadership. We hope that the release of hostages and increased humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza will bring them relief and lead to lasting peace.”

About the Gaza Peace Agreement
Hamas and Israel have been at odds for years over control of the Gaza Strip. In a bid to end this ongoing strife, President Trump proposed a peace plan that called for Hamas to relinquish power and release hostages. Hamas has now accepted the proposal, following which Trump directed Israel to cease its airstrikes on Gaza.
