PM Kisan 22nd Installment: The 22nd installment will arrive in February 2026! Learn the expected date and important updates

Amid weather and market uncertainties in Indian agriculture, the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana has emerged as a major financial support for millions of farmers. Under this scheme, the government provides financial assistance of ₹6,000 annually to farmers in three equal installments directly into their bank accounts. So far, the government has successfully released 21 installments, and farmers across the country are eagerly awaiting their 22nd installment. With the onset of February 2026, expectations have risen that this new installment of happiness will be transferred to farmers' accounts immediately after the budget.

When will the 22nd installment come?

According to the rules of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Yojana, the government sends financial assistance of ₹2,000 to eligible farmers every four months. The last installment, the 21st installment, was released in November 2025. According to that, the four-month cycle ends in February 2026. According to media reports and social media discussions, the government may transfer the funds in the second or third week of February. Although the Agriculture Ministry has not yet officially announced an exact date, beneficiaries should be prepared to receive the funds as soon as they arrive.

These 3 mistakes can stop your money

If you want Rs 2,000 to come into your account without any interruption, then do not ignore these three things at all:

1. Updating e-KYC is mandatory

To ensure transparency in the scheme and prevent fraud, the government has made e-KYC mandatory. Farmers whose KYC is not updated will have their installments withheld. You can complete this process from home by visiting the PM Kisan portal (pmkisan.gov.in) and using your Aadhaar and OTP. If you have trouble using your phone, you can also update it using biometrics at your nearest Common Service Center (CSC).

2. Be sure to check the status of land seeding

The PM Kisan Yojana benefits are available only to farmers whose cultivable land is registered in government records. If your beneficiary status says "Land Seeding: No," your installment will be blocked. To correct this, you must immediately visit your accountant or tehsil office and submit your land documents so your data can be updated.

3. Activate DBT in the bank account

Scheme funds are sent through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Sometimes, farmers' bank accounts are active, but the DBT feature isn't activated. To do this, you'll need to visit your bank branch and link your Aadhaar to your account and map it with the NPCI. If your Aadhaar isn't properly linked to your bank account, the funds won't reach your account even if they're released through the government system.

How to check your name and status?

To check your name on the list, you can use the 'Beneficiary Status' option on the official PM Kisan website. By entering your mobile number or registration number, you can check whether "Yes" is written next to your e-KYC, land seeding, and Aadhaar bank account mapping. If "Yes" is written next to all three, then there is no obstacle to receiving your 22nd installment.
