He drove a Defender car worth approximately ₹2.5 crore (approximately $2.5 million). He owned a pistol worth ₹2.2 million (approximately $2.2 million). He employed two to three private guards for his security, costing approximately ₹100,000 per month.

According to reports, the motive for the murder is believed to be an Instagram post. Suraj was married three years ago and has a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter. He was the eldest of three brothers. The dispute began when Suraj Sharma, a friend of his younger brother, Uday Yadav, shared a photo of a girl. The girl's boyfriend, Snehil Jha, first quarreled with Suraj Sharma and then with Uday Yadav.

Suraj was shot in the chest, stomach and hand.

Suraj Bihari had arrived to resolve the matter. On the morning of January 27th, he arrived with his brother Uday Yadav and his friend near Maranga Vasant Vihar Fun City Park. That's when Brajesh Singh, representing Snehil Jha, opened fire. He pulled out a pistol hidden in his waistband and fired five rounds. Three bullets struck Suraj. He collapsed after being shot in the chest, stomach, and left arm.

Brajesh reportedly arrived with his brother Nandu Singh and 20-25 henchmen. During the gunfight, the guards and relatives managed to escape.

Even after 48 hours of the incident, the accused is still at large.
