Sow barley in an earthen pot, place a pot containing Ganga water and a coin, mango leaves, and a coconut wrapped in sacred thread. This ritual brings happiness and prosperity.
What is the easy method of Kalash installation?
Cleaning the place: Clean the place of worship (north-east corner) and sprinkle Ganga water.
Sowing Barley: Fill an earthen pot with soil and sow barley, which is a symbol of prosperity.
Prepare the Kalash: For the Kalash, put copper, holy water in the soil, Ganga water, turmeric lump, betel nut, coin and 5 mango leaves.
Kalash Sthapana: Tie a sacred thread on the Kalash, make a Swastika and place it in the middle of the vessel where barley has been sown.
Coconut installation: Wrap the coconut in a red cloth or scarf, tie a sacred thread (Kalaava) on it and place it on top of the Kalash.
Worship: Light a lamp on the Kalash, apply tilak with roli-rice and chant the mantra 'Om Navratri Poojanarthe Varun Devaya Aavaham'.
What things should be kept in mind while installing the Kalash?
Always install the Kalash in the north or northeast (Ishan corner).
Begin worshipping Goddess Durga only after installing the Kalash.
Keep the coconut's mouth facing straight up or slightly toward the devotee.
Meditate on Goddess Durga while installing the Kalash.
