The NIA has achieved a major breakthrough in the Red Fort terror attack. The NIA has arrested an associate of the suicide bomber, Dr. Umar Mohammed, who helped him. Police are currently interrogating the arrested accused. The NIA has identified the arrested terrorist as Amir Rashid Ali. Amir is originally from Kashmir. Amir is accused of plotting the blast along with Umar. The car used in the Delhi blast is also registered in Amir Rashid Ali's name. The NIA has considered the Delhi blast to be the first such suicide attack.
The NIA investigation has revealed that Amir Rashid Ali, a resident of Sambura, Pampore, Jammu and Kashmir, had come to Delhi a few months ago to purchase the car used in the blast. The bomb was set inside the car only after purchasing it. The investigation has revealed that Amir orchestrated the entire conspiracy in collaboration with the alleged suicide bomber, Umar Un Nabi. Umar was a resident of Pulwama and was an assistant professor in the Department of General Medicine at Al-Falah University in Faridabad, Haryana.
According to the NIA, Aamir came to Delhi specifically to purchase a car for the blast. This car was later converted into a VBIED (Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Device). Forensic tests also confirmed that the deceased driver was Umar. The NIA has also seized another car belonging to Umar Nabi. A thorough investigation of this vehicle is currently underway to determine how and to what extent it was used in the conspiracy.
The agency has so far recorded the statements of 73 witnesses and injured persons. Numerous technical and digital evidence has also been recovered, which is being analyzed. The NIA is working in collaboration with the Delhi Police, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Haryana Police, Uttar Pradesh Police, and other central agencies in this investigation. The investigation team is now focused on uncovering a larger network, tracing the source of funding, and identifying the masterminds.
The agency is pursuing several leads, and the investigation is extending to Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. It is believed that a major terrorist conspiracy is behind this attack, which the NIA may soon fully uncover. This arrest is considered the biggest success in the case so far, as it is clarifying the direction of the entire module and network.
It should be noted that in addition to the arrest of Amir, the NIA is also searching for other suspects linked to this blast. This is why the NIA's investigation has reached six states, including Jammu and Kashmir. Investigations are ongoing in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, and Jammu and Kashmir. NIA teams are continuously conducting raids. NIA Director General Sadanand Date is personally leading the investigation. The NIA Director General is currently in Srinagar. In Srinagar, the NIA is interrogating Dr. Adil, Dr. Muzammil, Dr. Shaheen, and other accused.
Today, police also detained Dr. Priyanka Sharma from Haryana, a final-year student at GMC Anantnag. She is a resident of Rohtak. Security agencies are trying to determine whether he had any connection to Dr. Adeel or Dr. Umar.
