The full version of the new Aadhaar app is set to launch soon, making Aadhaar-related services more accessible than ever. The official Instagram account of UIDAI (Aadhaar) has confirmed the launch date and shared key details about the app’s features. Once released, the app will allow users to complete several important tasks directly from home, reducing the need for physical documents and in-person visits.
New Aadhaar App to Launch on January 28
According to UIDAI, the full version of the Aadhaar app will be officially launched on January 28. The app is designed to be simple and user-friendly, ensuring that even first-time users can navigate it without difficulty.
Android users will be able to download the app from the Google Play Store, while iPhone users can access it through the Apple App Store.
Services Likely to Be Available on the App
Once the full version is live, users may be able to update several Aadhaar-related details through the app, including:
-
Address
-
Mobile number
-
Email ID
-
Name
This means many Aadhaar updates that previously required visiting an Aadhaar center could soon be completed digitally.
No Need to Carry Physical Aadhaar Card
As per UIDAI’s Instagram post, the app will allow users to digitally verify their identity when needed. For example, if you forget your Aadhaar card while checking into a hotel, the app can be used for verification—eliminating the need to carry a physical card everywhere.
QR Code-Based Aadhaar Verification
The new Aadhaar app may also feature a QR code verification system, making it easier to verify another person’s Aadhaar instantly. This could be especially helpful for:
-
Landlords verifying tenants
-
Employers verifying domestic workers
With QR-based verification, users can quickly check whether an Aadhaar card is genuine.
A Step Toward Fully Digital Identity Services
The launch of the full version of the Aadhaar app marks another major step toward digital governance and paperless identity verification. By bringing essential services onto a single platform, UIDAI aims to make Aadhaar usage safer, faster, and more convenient for citizens.
