After establishing dominance in oil, gas, telecom and retail, Mukesh Ambani has now set his sights on the next big frontier—Artificial Intelligence. At the Reliance AGM 2025, the Reliance Industries Chairman announced the launch of a new entity, Reliance Intelligence, with the mission of placing India at the center of global AI leadership.
Mukesh Ambani revealed that Reliance Intelligence will operate with four core missions. The first is the creation of gigawatt-scale AI-ready data centers powered entirely by green energy, with work already underway at Jamnagar, Gujarat. The second mission is to forge global partnerships, while the third focuses on developing AI solutions tailored to India’s needs. The fourth priority is to nurture and promote AI talent across the country.
Ambani emphasized that Reliance Intelligence will deliver reliable, scalable and affordable AI services not only for large enterprises but also for small businesses and individual consumers. Sectors such as education, healthcare, and agriculture are expected to benefit significantly, as AI-driven services will become more accessible to the masses.
The announcement also brought major global collaborations. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg confirmed a partnership with Reliance to make open-source AI models like Llama available to Indian businesses, helping them innovate and grow. He highlighted that Reliance’s reach will ensure AI’s benefits reach every corner of India, calling this initiative the start of a new era where every creator, business and company has the tools for success.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai too pledged support, stating that Reliance and Google will work together to integrate Gemini AI models into Reliance’s diverse businesses—ranging from energy and telecom to retail and financial services.
With Reliance Intelligence, Ambani is signaling that just as he reshaped India’s telecom and retail landscape, he now intends to make India a global powerhouse in Artificial Intelligence.
