MS Dhoni Gets Legal Notice Over Ranchi Property, Asked to Respond Within 15 Days

Indian cricket legend MS Dhoni has landed in controversy after the Jharkhand State Housing Board issued him a notice regarding the alleged commercial use of his residential property in Ranchi’s Harmu area.

According to the Housing Board, the plot allotted to Dhoni was meant strictly for residential purposes, but it is allegedly being used for business activities, which violates the allotment rules.

15-Day Deadline to Reply

The notice states that Dhoni must submit his explanation within 15 days. If the response is found unsatisfactory, the Board may recommend cancellation of Plot H-(10)A, which was allotted to him in 2009 following a recommendation from the Jharkhand government.

Housing Board Chairman Sanjay Lal Paswan confirmed that the notice was issued after an investigation. He also clarified that similar notices have been served to several others for comparable violations.

What Triggered the Controversy?

The dispute reportedly began due to the operation of a diagnostic centre, Neiberg Pulse Diagnostics, on the Harmu property. The location holds special emotional value for fans, as it houses Dhoni’s old residence, which has become a popular selfie spot.

The walls of the house feature Dhoni’s name, jersey number 7, and artwork depicting his iconic helicopter shot and wicketkeeping stance. However, Dhoni now lives with his family at a large farmhouse on Simaliya Ring Road, and the Harmu house is considered his former residence.

Social Media Buzz, No Official Statement Yet

A copy of the notice has gone viral on social media, sparking widespread discussion. So far, Dhoni has not released any official statement regarding the matter.

On the professional front, the 44-year-old is expected to be seen soon in the IPL, representing Chennai Super Kings. Although he retired from international cricket in 2020, Dhoni continues to remain a major presence in the IPL, with speculation that the upcoming season could be his last.
