JSW MG Motor India has released a teaser for a new limited-edition version of its popular electric vehicle, the MG Windsor EV. Called the Indulge Edition, the upcoming model is expected to introduce premium styling elements and additional cabin features ahead of the festive season.
The special edition comes as the Windsor EV approaches its second anniversary in the Indian market. The electric crossover has attracted considerable attention among buyers looking for a spacious, feature-rich electric vehicle. With the Indulge Edition, the company appears to be focusing on enhancing the cabin experience and giving the model a more exclusive identity.
Although the teaser offers a glimpse of the new design elements, the complete feature list, pricing, and launch date are yet to be officially confirmed.
MG Windsor EV Indulge Edition: What Is New?
The teaser suggests that the Indulge Edition will feature a premium theme, with special attention given to the interior design and passenger comfort.
One of the most noticeable changes is the tan-and-black seat upholstery, which gives the cabin a more luxurious appearance. The seats also feature Indulge branding on the headrests, helping distinguish this edition from the standard Windsor EV.
Another major highlight is a roof-mounted, flip-down entertainment screen for rear passengers. The screen can be folded away when not in use, potentially making journeys more enjoyable for passengers travelling in the back.
The existing infotainment display is also expected to be retained. These additions suggest that MG is prioritising comfort, convenience, and in-car entertainment rather than introducing a completely different vehicle.
However, the teaser alone does not confirm whether the special edition will receive any additional equipment beyond the features shown.
Battery Options and Driving Range
The standard MG Windsor EV is offered with two battery options, catering to customers with different driving requirements.
The 38 kWh battery version has a claimed driving range of up to 332 km on a single charge, while the larger 52.9 kWh battery version offers a claimed range of up to 449 km.
Both versions use a front-mounted electric motor producing 136 hp and 220 Nm of torque.
The Indulge Edition is expected to retain the existing powertrain, although its final battery configuration and specifications have not been fully confirmed in the announcement described here.
The larger battery option could be particularly appealing to customers who frequently undertake longer journeys, while the smaller battery may suit those primarily using their vehicle for daily commuting.
Actual driving range can vary depending on traffic, driving style, air-conditioning use, road conditions, and temperature.
MG Windsor EV Indulge Edition: Expected Price
The standard MG Windsor EV has been offered at a starting price of ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) with the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option.
Under the BaaS model, customers pay separately for battery usage, subject to the applicable terms. This can reduce the vehicle's initial purchase price, but the overall ownership cost should be evaluated by considering battery-use charges and other expenses.
Given its additional premium features and exclusive interior treatment, the Indulge Edition could command a higher price than comparable standard variants. However, its final pricing has not yet been officially announced.
Buyers should also check whether the special edition will be offered with the BaaS option or only through conventional purchase arrangements.
Will the New Edition Offer Better Value?
The Indulge Edition appears to target customers who want a more premium cabin experience without moving to a larger or more expensive vehicle.
The tan-and-black upholstery, special branding, and rear entertainment screen could make it particularly attractive to families and people who regularly travel with rear-seat passengers.
However, buyers should compare its final price with the standard Windsor EV before making a decision. If the mechanical specifications and driving range remain unchanged, the additional cost will largely depend on how much value customers place on the exclusive styling and added features.
The Bottom Line
The MG Windsor EV Indulge Edition is shaping up to be a premium-themed special edition of the company's electric crossover. Its distinctive upholstery, Indulge branding, and roof-mounted rear entertainment screen are among the key features revealed in the teaser.
While the existing battery options and electric powertrain are expected to remain largely unchanged, the new edition could offer a more luxurious experience for passengers.
The official launch details, complete feature list, battery configuration, and final price will determine whether the Indulge Edition offers enough additional value over the standard MG Windsor EV.
