Commercial LPG cylinders have become more expensive, with oil marketing companies increasing the price of a 19 kg commercial gas cylinder by ₹9.50 in several major cities starting September 1. This new change, implemented at the start of a new month, has increased the operating costs of businesses dependent on commercial LPG.
According to the new rates, the price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi will now increase from ₹2,738 to ₹2,747.50. In Chennai, the price has increased from ₹2,906 to ₹2,916.50.
This increase will mainly impact restaurants, hotels, dhabas, sweet shops and other businesses that use commercial LPG cylinders for cooking and other purposes.
Domestic LPG cylinder prices
come as some relief to domestic customers, as the price of a 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder remains unchanged with the new month's price revision. The September 1st revision focuses on commercial LPG cylinders.
Domestic LPG prices have remained fairly stable in recent months, while commercial cylinder prices have changed several times.
How much has the price of commercial LPG increased?
A 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder has become costlier by ₹9.50 in Delhi and Chennai from September 1. This increase follows a significant price reduction in previous months.
In August, oil marketing companies significantly reduced the price of commercial LPG cylinders. Last month's reduction followed another cut in July, which provided some relief to commercial users.
Therefore, this new increase represents a reversal from the large reductions seen earlier, although it is quite small.

The revised price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in specific cities includes:
Delhi: Rs 2,747.50, above Rs 2,738
Chennai: Rs 2,916.50, above Rs 2,906
