While fans are eagerly waiting for his upcoming Ramayana: Part 1, excitement is also building around Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War, which stars Ranbir Kapoor alongside Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal.

The film is scheduled to hit theatres on January 21, 2027, and now there is a major update about its promotional campaign. According to recent reports, the makers are planning to give Love & War a theatrical teaser launch, with the first major glimpse expected to be attached to Ramayana: Part 1.

Teaser was earlier planned for Ranbir's birthday

The makers were reportedly considering September 28, Ranbir Kapoor's birthday, for the release of the film's teaser. However, the shooting of Love & War was completed only in early September, making a full teaser launch by the end of the month difficult.

Instead, reports now suggest that Bhansali has opted for a bigger theatrical launch. The teaser is expected to be shown with Ramayana: Part 1, giving it access to a massive audience during the Diwali release window.

A different promotional asset from Love & War could reportedly be unveiled around Ranbir's birthday, although the exact details have not yet been officially announced.

Ranbir, Alia and Vicky's much-awaited reunion

Love & War features Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in the lead roles. The film is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and is expected to be an ambitious romantic drama set against the backdrop of war.

The project also marks an important reunion for Bhansali and Ranbir, who previously worked together on Saawariya in 2007. Bhansali has also reunited with Alia after the critically acclaimed Gangubai Kathiawadi, while Love & War marks Vicky Kaushal's first collaboration with the filmmaker.

Shooting has been completed

The film's principal shooting was completed in September 2026. Following the wrap, Bhansali and the team have moved into the post-production phase ahead of the theatrical release.

The latest reports indicate that the teaser is expected in November 2026, while the film's full trailer is reportedly being planned for a later release, potentially in December.

When will Love & War release?

Love & War is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on January 21, 2027. The film had previously gone through multiple changes to its release schedule before the January 2027 date was confirmed.
