Karnataka Murder: The body of former Karnataka Director General of Police (DGP) Om Prakash was found at his home. He was found dead in his residence in Bengaluru under mysterious circumstances on Sunday. Due to injury marks on the body, it is suspected that he has been murdered. Police said that 68-year-old Prakash's wife Pallavi informed about the incident. Senior police officers immediately reached the spot as soon as the information was received. Prakash's body was found soaked in blood in his three-storey residence in HSR Layout. Police have started questioning Prakash's wife and daughter in connection with the incident.

Police suspect murder, son lodged a complaint
Additional Commissioner of Police Vikas Kumar Vikas gave information to the media. According to him, the police received information about the incident at around 4.30 pm and a patrol vehicle reached the spot. He said that Prakash's son has given a complaint to the police, on the basis of which the process of registering an FIR is being done. The case will be investigated accordingly. On being asked about the "murder", the police officer said, "There has been a fight. Weapons have been used. We will be able to get detailed information after further investigation."
Some property disputes in the family
When the Additional Commissioner of Police was asked if family members were involved, he said, "These things will be known only after investigation. The process of filing an FIR is still going on. After the FIR is filed, we will be able to tell about the entire incident." He said, "At present, we have not arrested anyone." According to media reports, the retired DGP had earlier also told some of his close associates that his life was in danger. The police suspect the involvement of a family member in the incident. It has been learned that there were some property-related disputes in the family.

The body has been sent for postmortem and investigation is underway. Prakash, a 1981 batch IPS officer, was a native of Champaran in Bihar. Prakash was appointed Director General of Police of Karnataka on March 1, 2015.
