West Indies opener John Campbell produced a sensational batting performance in the Guwahati ODI, smashing a record-breaking century and putting his name alongside some of the biggest hitters in West Indies cricket.

The left-handed batter reached his century in just 65 balls, becoming the fastest West Indies batter to score an ODI hundred on Indian soil.

Lara reached his hundred in just 45 balls against Bangladesh in 1999. That extraordinary innings remains one of the fastest ODI centuries in international cricket.

Campbell's 65-ball century places him fifth on the list of the fastest ODI centuries by West Indies batters.

Seven-year wait for another ODI century

Campbell's latest century also ended a long wait.

His previous ODI hundred came against Ireland in 2019, when he scored his maiden century in the format. Seven years later, he finally reached three figures again, this time in India.
