Good news may soon be on the way for millions of railway passengers who book tickets online. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has announced that a revamped IRCTC website is expected to be launched by July 15, 2026, with the aim of making ticket booking faster, smoother, and more user-friendly.
Students Raise Website Concerns
During an interaction with students in Jaipur, several participants highlighted the challenges they face while booking train tickets through the current IRCTC portal. One of the major complaints was the difficulty of completing captcha verification during the booking process, especially during high-demand periods.
The students urged the Railway Minister to improve the platform and simplify the booking experience.
Railway Minister Takes Immediate Action
After hearing the concerns, Ashwini Vaishnaw reportedly contacted railway officials on the spot and discussed the possibility of developing a new and improved website within a short timeframe.
Following the discussion, the minister assured students that a redesigned IRCTC platform would be launched by July 15. The upgraded portal is expected to offer a more seamless user experience, faster performance, and a simplified ticket-booking process.
What Passengers Can Expect
The new website is expected to focus on:
-
Faster ticket booking and navigation
-
Improved user interface and accessibility
-
Reduced booking delays during peak hours
-
Easier verification and login processes
-
A smoother overall experience for passengers
The move is expected to benefit millions of users who rely on IRCTC for railway reservations across India.
Focus on Railway Development in Rajasthan
During his visit to Jaipur, the Railway Minister also spoke about the government's efforts to strengthen railway infrastructure and connectivity in Rajasthan.
According to Vaishnaw, Rajasthan's railway budget has seen significant growth over the years. He stated that before 2014, the state's annual railway allocation was around ₹600 crore, while the current allocation has increased to ₹10,228 crore under the present government's railway development plans.
The proposed launch of the new IRCTC website is being seen as part of a broader push toward digital modernization and improved passenger services across the Indian Railways network.
