Nowadays, the entire world is using digital devices. Its most common use is online payments instead of cash. Even a bill for a 1 rupee chocolate can be paid online. But now, to make a payment of more than 10,000 rupees, you'll have to wait for an hour. The RBI has implemented this new rule for a significant reason.
Everyone makes online payments. But now they face many frauds. Because of this, people don't feel comfortable making digital payments. To curb this and prevent Authorized Push Payment (APP) fraud, the Reserve Bank of India has taken a major decision. To make digital transactions more secure, the bank has suggested new security rules for transactions over ₹10,000. These are as follows. This will benefit UPI users the most.
What are the new rules for UPI payments?
If you're sending more than ₹10,000 to a new person's UPI account, the transaction may be held for 1 hour. This means the money won't be transferred immediately. You'll need to wait 1 hour before the transfer will be processed. During this time, you can also cancel your transaction. This will be a huge advantage in preventing app fraud.
Once this RBI proposal is implemented, digital transactions will take a little longer, but your money will be more secure. Therefore, it's important to be cautious rather than rushing into transactions.
