Hidden Camera Found Inside Bathroom Bulb: Hyderabad Landlord Arrested for Spying on Woman Tenant

In a shocking incident from Hyderabad, Telangana, a landlord was arrested after a hidden camera was discovered inside the bathroom of his female tenant. The device was cleverly fitted into a light bulb, allegedly used to record the woman without her knowledge.

The incident took place in Vengalrao Nagar, where a 23-year-old married woman, employed with a private company, was living with her husband in a rented portion of a house owned by Ashok Yadav, a resident of Jawahar Nagar.

According to police, the woman had complained on October 4 that the bathroom bulb was not working, following which Yadav sent an electrician for repairs. On October 13, the woman’s husband noticed a loose screw in the bulb holder and decided to check it with a flashlight. To his shock, he found a miniature camera hidden inside the bulb.

When confronted, the landlord initially denied any involvement and even threatened the couple against approaching the police.

Police Action
The couple, however, went ahead and filed a formal complaint. Madhuranagar Police registered a case against Ashok Yadav and the electrician, identified as Chintu. The landlord has since been arrested, while Chintu remains absconding.

Forensic Investigation Underway
Police have seized the camera and handed it over to forensic experts for analysis. Investigators are examining whether the device recorded or transmitted any footage.

Similar Incidents Reported Earlier
This is not the first case of hidden cameras being used for voyeurism in Telangana. Recently, a similar case surfaced in Kistareddypet, under Ameenpur Municipality of Sangareddy district, where a hidden camera was found inside a phone charger at a girls’ hostel. The warden, Maheshwar, was arrested in that case.

Authorities have urged citizens, especially tenants, to stay alert and report any suspicious activity or devices found in private spaces.
