Entertainment Desk, New Delhi. The dazzling world of Bollywood has seen many stars whose brilliance illuminated the entire world, but the darkness in their own lives never ended. Fame swept them away, the world pampered them, but when it came to their loved ones, fate took such a turn that everything fell apart.

Today, we're going to tell you the story of one such legendary actress from the film world, for whom the word "fate" became a bitter reality. She portrayed every relationship with perfection on screen, but in real life, her own blood relations brought her to the brink of betrayal and helplessness. Even at the pinnacle of success, she continued to grapple with the wounds inflicted by her loved ones throughout her life. Let's learn about her painful story...

Lalita was born in a temple

It was the year 1916 when Ambika (Lalita Pawar's childhood name) was born in a small village in Nashik, Maharashtra. Her birth story is no less than a scene straight out of a movie. Her mother had gone to visit a temple when she suddenly went into labor on the temple's doorstep, and Lalita was born there. Since the birth took place at the shrine of "Ambe Maa," the family couldn't think of anything else, so they named her Ambika.

Showed talent in front of the camera at a young age

Ambika, also known as Lalita, was slowly growing up. At the age of nine, she was offered the opportunity to work in cinema. She began her career in 1928 with the film Raja Harishchandra. She then appeared in films like Himmat-e-Mardan (1935) . In the 1940s, she appeared in several silent films, sometimes in action films and sometimes in mythological films.

An accident changed Lalita's life.

After entering Hindi films, Lalita initially acted in several silent films. After that, she gradually began appearing in more films. Meanwhile, an accident changed everything. In 1942, she got the opportunity to work in Chandra Rao's film "Jung-e-Azadi."

During the filming of this film, Lalita's co-star, Bhagwan Dada, was supposed to slap her. After all the preparations, as soon as the call to action was given, Bhagwan Dada slapped Lalita so hard that she fainted on the spot. At first, people thought Lalita was feigning unconsciousness because she was in the scene, but when she didn't wake up, they noticed blood coming from her ears. She was immediately taken to the hospital.

Due to a medical error, Lalita suffered paralysis in her right body. This subsequently led to her eye becoming damaged. Consequently, she lost several films.

Lalita became the villain of cinema

This accident changed everything. But Lalita didn't give up, and after a few years, she made a comeback with the film Grihasthi, which she did with her eyes closed, in 1948. She moved from playing heroines to villains. Sometimes she would play a stern mother-in-law, or sometimes a formidable villain.

Her style also appealed to audiences, and she began receiving numerous film roles. She is also listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the longest-serving actress. She worked for seven decades and appeared in 700 films. She appeared in numerous hit films, including "Shri 420," "Anari," "Professor," "Do Raaste," and "Anand."

Won the hearts of the audience by playing Manthara in Ramayana

Many characters were seen in Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan and those characters ruled the hearts of the audience and one of these characters was Manthara.

This character was played by none other than Lalita Pawar. By the time she landed the role, she had already worked in cinema for over 60 years. Even at this age, Lalita's portrayal became immortal. She became universally known as Manthara.

Lalita's sister became her co-wife

Lalita experienced many ups and downs in her professional career, but her personal life was also fraught with difficulties. She married producer Ganpatrao Pawar. However, their marriage faced difficulties when Lalita discovered that her husband was having an affair with her younger sister.

Lalita was devastated by this and then she left Ganpatrao and married film producer Rajprakash Gupta and she also had a son with him.

The corpse was rotting in the house

Lalita Pawar, who had starred in over 700 films, had a traumatic personal life. After her second marriage, she had a son, but gradually her life became confined within the four walls of her home. She breathed her last in her Pune bungalow, "Aarohi." When she passed away in 1998, no one was present at her residence.

Her husband was hospitalized at the time, and her son was in Mumbai with his family. In a cruel twist of fate, her body remained rotting in the same house for three days after her death. This was discovered only when her son called and received no response. Finally, the police arrived and broke down the door, only to find Lalita Pawar's body.

It's a matter of great regret that the stars who shine in cinema often have a dark life. She sang, acted in films, endured a lot of pain, and achieved considerable success, but the last page of her life remained blank. Ultimately, Lalita Pawar left behind countless memories.
