Google Summer Internship: Google has invited applications for its Public Policy Fellowship/Internship Program for Summer 2026. This program will provide students with the opportunity to work with public interest organizations and gain hands-on experience on internet and technology-related issues. Selected candidates will also receive an attractive stipend.

Google Summer Internship : Google has announced the United States Public Policy Fellowship Program for Summer 2026. This fellowship will provide students with the opportunity to understand and work on internet and technology policy issues while working with public interest organizations in Washington, DC.

Interested candidates can apply online for this program. The deadline is April 9, 2026, at 12:00 PM Eastern Time.

Who can apply?

  • Students from any academic 'line-height: normal;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1;tab-stops:list .5in'>Candidates should have an interest in Internet and technology policy.
  • The applicant must have good research, writing and communication skills.
  • The candidate must be enrolled or admitted to a recognized institution by August 30, 2026.
  • To participate in the US Google Public Policy Fellowship, candidates must have legal permission to work in the United States. Google has clarified that it will not provide any assistance or guidance in obtaining this permission-related documentation. Therefore, candidates must independently determine their eligibility to work in the United States before applying.
  • Undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) and PhD students can apply for this.
  • Students are eligible whether they are studying full-time or part-time.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old by January 1, 2026. Students who have previously participated in the Google Policy Fellowship cannot apply again.

How much stipend will you get?

Students selected for the fellowship will receive a stipend from the host organization. Students working full-time (approximately 40 hours a week) will receive approximately $12,000 (approximately ₹10 lakh). Students working part-time (20 hours a week) will receive approximately $6,000 (approximately ₹5 lakh).

This stipend will be paid by the host organization. Payment will be made only if the student's performance is satisfactory and all necessary formalities are completed. Furthermore, the fellow will be required to pay any taxes on the stipend.
