Google has launched its latest smartwatch, the Pixel Watch 5, in India with a range of health, fitness, connectivity, and AI-powered features. The new smartwatch comes with a brighter display, a new Snapdragon platform, improved Gemini integration, ECG monitoring, and upgraded GPS technology.

The Pixel Watch 5 is available in two sizes, 41mm and 45mm, with the larger model offering up to 40 hours of battery life on a single charge.

Pixel Watch 5 Price and Colours in India

The 41mm version of the Google Pixel Watch 5 is priced at ₹42,999. It is designed for wrists measuring between 130mm and 210mm and is available with a polished silver aluminium case paired with a Fog Active Band or a champagne gold aluminium case with a Canyon Active Band.

The 45mm model costs ₹45,999 and is designed for wrists measuring between 150mm and 215mm. It comes in a satin pyrite aluminium case with an Olive Active Band and a matte black aluminium case with an Obsidian Active Band.

Pre-orders are open, while sales are scheduled to begin on August 20.

Google has also introduced a 45mm Stephen Curry Special Edition in international markets, priced at $579.

3,000-Nit Display and New Processor

The Pixel Watch 5 features a domed Actua 360 AMOLED LTPO display with a rounded design. The screen offers up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness, 320 ppi pixel density, and an adaptive refresh rate of up to 60Hz.

It also supports an Always-On Display and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass for additional protection.

The smartwatch is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 accelerated platform, along with a Cortex-M55 co-processor. Google says its dual-chip architecture delivers improved performance compared with the previous generation.

The watch also comes with 64GB of eMMC storage.

Gemini Gets a Bigger Role

Google has expanded Gemini integration on the Pixel Watch 5. Users can interact with Gemini directly from their wrist, making it easier to access information and perform tasks.

The watch can also provide proactive information and suggestions based on Google services such as Gmail and Calendar.

ECG and Advanced Health Tracking

Health monitoring is one of the major highlights of the Pixel Watch 5. It includes an ECG feature with AFib detection, along with high and low heart-rate alerts.

Other health and wellness features include:

• Resting heart-rate tracking

• Heart-rate variability (HRV)

• Respiratory-rate tracking

• Real-time stress monitoring

The new Health Guardian feature provides longer-term insights, including information related to blood pressure trends, sleep breathing quality, and insulin-resistance trends.

New Breathing Emergency Detection

One of the notable additions is Breathing Emergency Detection. Google says the feature monitors severe and persistent drops in oxygen levels using data from the watch's PPG, accelerometer, and barometer sensors, combined with on-device AI.

The smartwatch is also capable of tracking more than 50 different activities. It provides real-time audio and visual guidance, weekly cardio goals, and a daily readiness score.

Dual-Frequency GPS for Better Tracking

The Pixel Watch 5 also gets upgraded dual-frequency GPS technology. Google claims that the improved GPS system can provide up to twice the route-tracking accuracy of the previous generation.

This could be particularly useful for people who use their smartwatch for outdoor activities such as running, walking, hiking, or cycling.

Up to 40 Hours of Battery Life

Battery life varies depending on the size of the smartwatch. The 41mm model is rated to provide up to 30 hours of battery life, while the larger 45mm version can deliver up to 40 hours.

Google claims that a 15-minute charge can provide up to 15 hours of battery life.

The Pixel Watch 5 also carries an IP68 rating, offering protection against dust and water under supported conditions.
