Mobile New Rules: Big changes for mobile users from November 1st; even unknown calls will now be subject to..., learn about the CNAP rules

The rules are set to change for millions of mobile users in India starting November 1. Following a Ministry of Telecommunications (DoT) mandate, all companies have announced they will implement Caller Name Presentation (CNAP) starting November 1. This will allow users to identify the name of a caller from an unknown number.

According to an order issued by the Indian government, a new rule will come into effect on November 1st. The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) issued this order. According to this, all mobile users are required to display the caller's name. In fact, many people use mobile apps like TrueCaller to find out the name of an unknown caller.

4G and 5G service users: According to a directive from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), CNAP service will be required for 4G and 5G service users to see the caller's name when receiving a call. This feature will later be made available for 2G and 3G networks as well.

Here's how the Caller ID feature works: When Indian mobile users receive a call, the caller's name and the person's name saved in their contact book appear on the screen. If the phone number isn't saved in your contact book, the caller's name displayed on your mobile screen is the name stored on the telecom company's data server. This is the name used to purchase the SIM card.

If the caller is an international customer, the mobile display will display "International Calls." This feature also helps prevent cyber-fraud calls.
