Home remedies can now be used to save on dry cleaning costs. Incense, aromatic oils, camphor, baking soda, and white vinegar can easily remove odors and refresh clothes.
Winter is approaching, and people are taking out quilts, blankets, and woolen clothes from their closets and boxes. However, due to prolonged storage, these clothes often start to smell, making them unsuitable for wearing. People often spend thousands of rupees on dry cleaning to keep them clean and fresh, which can be a drain on everyone's budget. The important thing is that this expense can be saved, as some simple and effective home remedies can easily remove the odor from quilts, blankets, and woolen clothes.
These include sun exposure and the use of aromatic oils. These methods will not only refresh your clothes but also reduce household expenses and allow you to enjoy clean, fragrant clothes during the cold season.
Sun exposure
The simplest and most effective way to remove odor from warm clothes is to expose them to sunlight. Place the clothes in direct sunlight and turn them three or four times so that every corner is exposed to sunlight. This will remove moisture and odor, leaving the clothes feeling fresh.
Kapoor
If the smell is severe and sunlight is not available, take a clean cover and place it over the quilt or blanket and place a few pieces of camphor inside. The smell will disappear in a short time and the clothes will be wearable again.
White vinegar
Fill a spray bottle with white vinegar and lightly spray it on clothes. Then, leave it in the sun for a few hours. This also helps to instantly remove odors from duvets and blankets.
Baking Soda
Sprinkle baking soda on warm clothes and leave them in an open area for a few hours. Then, vacuum them. Baking soda effectively absorbs odors and refreshes clothes.
Freshness from aromatic oils
If sun exposure is difficult, add a few drops of clove, lavender, or peppermint essential oil to warm clothes. Spread it evenly and place it in a well-ventilated area. This will remove odors and add a light fragrance.
