Former PM's wife dies during violence in Nepal, protesters set Parliament on fire

According to family sources, he was taken to Kirtipur Burn Hospital in a critical condition. He died during treatment here. This incident has added to the growing number of casualties.

Amidst the protests in Nepal, a shocking news is coming. A crowd of protesters attacked the house of the country's former Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal and set it on fire. In this incident, Khanal's wife Rajyalakshmi Chitrakar was also targeted by the protesters. She was badly burnt and died. This incident took place at his residence in Dallu, where the protesters surrounded him inside the house and set it on fire. The protesters have also burnt the country's Parliament and Supreme Court.  

Death during treatment

According to family sources, She was taken to Kirtipur Burn Hospital in critical condition. She died during treatment here. This incident has added to the growing number of casualties. The Gen-G protest which started on Monday has now become more violent. The authorities have not yet issued any statement about this attack.

Khanal was rescued by the army

According to CPN (Unified Socialist) leader Naresh Shahi, she was seriously injured as protesters set fire inside the house. According to him, she was at home with her son Nirbhik Khanal when the protesters set the house on fire. After being engulfed in flames, she was taken to the Nepal Army hospital in the cantonment.

According to Shahi, she was treated in the ICU here but she had suffered severe burn injuries. Due to this, she was taken to Kirtipur Hospital. Jhalanath Khanal was rescued by the Nepali Army before the fire broke out in the house.

Jhalanath Khanal has been the 35th Prime Minister of Nepal and held the post from February 2011 to August 2011. He has also been the chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal and has also served as the leader of the Constituent Assembly Parliamentary Party of the CPN.
