EPFO New Rule: Withdraw Up to ₹1 Lakh PF Advance in Just 3 Days — Know the Complete Process

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has introduced a major relief for its millions of subscribers by simplifying and speeding up the PF advance withdrawal process. With the new auto-settlement (auto-mode) facility, employees no longer need to wait for weeks or make repeated office visits to access their funds.

This facility is especially beneficial during medical emergencies, education expenses, marriage, and home-related needs, where immediate financial support is crucial.

Withdrawal Limit Increased to ₹1 Lakh

Under the revised rules, EPFO has doubled the auto-settlement withdrawal limit:

  • Earlier limit: ₹50,000

  • New limit: ₹1,00,000

The higher limit allows members to meet larger financial requirements more easily. Since claims under auto-mode are processed digitally, the system eliminates manual verification delays.

Faster Claim Processing: Money in 3–4 Days

Earlier, PF advance claims often took 15–20 days due to physical document checks and manual approvals. Under the new system:

  • Claims are verified through an automated, computer-based process

  • KYC, eligibility, and bank details are checked digitally

  • If all details are correct, the amount is credited directly to the bank account within 3 to 4 days

This has significantly reduced processing time and paperwork.

Eligibility and Mandatory Conditions

To use the auto-settlement facility, members must meet the following requirements:

  • Active UAN (Universal Account Number)

  • Aadhaar linked with PF and bank account

  • Bank details and KYC fully updated and verified

  • Claim purpose should fall under eligible categories such as:

    • Medical treatment

    • Education

    • Marriage

    • Housing-related needs

Initially introduced only for medical emergencies, the facility has now been extended to cover multiple personal requirements.

Step-by-Step Online Application Process

Follow these steps to apply for a PF advance online:

  1. Log in to the EPFO Member Portal using your UAN and password

  2. Go to Online Services and click on Claim (Form-31, 19 & 10C)

  3. Verify your bank account details and click Proceed for Online Claim
